We’re just two friends—one in New Orleans and the other in Tampa—keeping the whiskey love alive from opposite sides of the map. Our bond? Our bourbon journey kicked off with Wild Turkey, and honestly, we’re obsessed. It’s the one we keep going back to, but we’re always hunting for new flavors to try. Our Review Method: AKA How We Drink Bourbon Like Pros (Kind of)
- The Nose
First, we stick our noses in the glass. Yes, we know it sounds weird, but trust us, it’s necessary. Is it spicy? Sweet? Does it smell like a BBQ or like dessert? We’ll break it down so you know exactly what you’re sniffing before you sip. - The Palate
Next, we taste it. But not just a “yep, that’s bourbon” kind of taste. We get into the nitty-gritty—are there hints of vanilla? Maybe some chocolate? Does it punch you in the face with spice or lull you into a sweet embrace? We’ll tell you all the deets. - The Finish
And then…the grand finale. Does it go out with a bang or a whimper? Does it leave a warm, fuzzy feeling, or are you left wondering what just happened? We rate the finish so you can be prepared for the after-party in your mouth. - Overall Rating
